The goal of the Fluid Interfaces research group is to radically rethink the human-machine interactive experience. By designing interfaces that are more immersive, more intelligent, and more interactive we are changing the human-machine relationship and creating systems that are more responsive to people's needs and actions, and that become true “accessories&rdquoo; for expanding our minds.

Collective Memory/Collective Intelligence
Xinyu H. Liu and Pattie MaesWe are developing interfaces that allow people to benefit from the knowledge and experience of others at the moment when that knowledge is most relevant. Using a variety of sensing and perception technologies, combined with common sense reasoning, these systems try to predict what a person is interested in or trying to do and bring up relevant knowledge and memories proactively.
